Many students and faculty members look forward to Summer break. A time Reedy Lions have the opportunity to grow, learn life lessons in the real world, and experience new things.
Students here at Ready are already looking forward to the new adventures and opportunities around the world that lie just ahead.
“I’m going to the UK for 10 days for a mission trip.” junior Hope Lawson said. “I have been there before, we travel around the country singing, sharing the gospel and volunteering in local churches and neighborhoods.”
Relaxing this summer is something many are looking forward to. The ample time gives students enough time to destress.
“Honestly I’m looking forward to relaxing and sleeping a lot, and just using the time to rest and get some studying done,” sophomore Tessa Krueger said.
While other students are staying busy and preparing for the year to come by taking summer camps.
“I am excited to be in color next year,” junior Elise Stallc said.“Over the summer we attend color guard camp for 2 weeks and then go into band camp. I’m eager to learn the new routines and for this marching band season.”
A family reunion is on the docket for many students this break. Leading them to connect with loved ones they haven’t seen in a long time.
“I’m going to be traveling for about a month to California to visit family,” junior Izma Munawar. “It’s been a while since we have seen them, and we are also going to Australia to meet some of my estranged family for the first time.”
Weddings are a celebration of two lives merging, bringing people together around the world, this summer.
“I have a Cousins wedding in Iran in May. It’s gonna be huge, tons of music, but mostly I’m looking forward to the surprise she is giving all the singles. It’s supposed to be some expensive gift,” junior Teyam Nazami said.
Graduating seniors have their last high school summer break ahead. Most of Reedy’s seniors will be left very busy this summer.
“Working and getting ready for college is what most of my break will be dedicated to, but I also have a concert for my chemical romance. I got pit tickets and my friend is flying in to go to the concert with me,” senior Lynn O’hare.
Like many girls this summer, Reedy students just wanna have fun.
“I’m going to the big Disney World in Florida to meet Mickey Mouse. I’m looking forward to having fun with my family and best friend.” Emily McDaniel said.
