Road to Success

On October 15, the Varsity Tennis team was awarded 3rd place in districts. Although it might not be first place, tennis coach Mandy Bowling is pleased with the overall outcome.

“We went to area and lost the first match, but the team put up a good fight,”  Bowling said. “They played extremely well and I was very proud of them.”

The tennis team has been practicing more than usual in order to prepare for their next big competition.

“Normally during practice, we run and sprint,” sophomore Blakley Pate said. “Now we’re doing drills, especially doubles to get the seven-match lead.”

Reedy is a 5A school and is ranked 8th in State within their designated region.

“Considering this is our first year in 5A, we’ve done really well so far,” junior Jack Crandell said. “A lot of our team has been playing outside of school tournaments, so that will help us grow skill-wise as well.”

The team’s spring season begins in January, giving them something to look forward to and train for.

“We have more of our major competitions coming up soon,” freshman Jose Davila said. “If we practice hard and work together as a team, I know we can win.”
